Anish' Art Activates (7)

Image result for anish kapoor

From the Windy City
To Kroller - Muller
Anish Kapoor's work inspires
Seeing people move in and out
Enlarged, bloated,
Minimized

What you see is a deflection
A change up
Of reality

I pondered
Could artificial intelligence
Create such
Image trickery

Can robots and cyborgs
Emulate
The rich palate
Of human emotions and thoughts

As if ...
We can augment
For the sake of arguement

A place for human mettle
Will remain

Technology vs humanity (6)

http://www.techvshuman.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/tech-vs-human-book-300x227.png

Technology vs humanity

Singularity looms
When the machines
Will overcome
Human intelligence

Should we shudder/freeze
Rebel/fight
Hit the road/flight

Pessimists will say
The end is near
Non ethical machines
Will take over

Optimists say
The creative human wit
Will stay

The nihilist
Either way it does not matter

I foresee opportunity
Feel a mild anxiety

It is the speed of change
The industrial revolutions
Condensed more and more
150-50-25-10 years

Internet of things

What is next?

White elephants (5)

For @ingewera

White elephant
Tickled the delight
Of circus boss
T.J. Barnum
So the king of Siam
Disposed
The coveted animal
Which happened to be
A light grey - pink spotted
Beauty

The storage rooms of Mulago Teaching Hospital
Are full of good intention
Endless rows of dusty high tech
From all over the world
Without spare parts or instructions
Or budget to use

The Italians call it
cattedrali nel deserto

Every change in human behaviour
Requires understanding of the humanoid
However beautiful technology often is
The narrative needs to fit
The need of the People

Hence
Technology & Humanity
Hand-in-Hand

Can robots help the elderly? (4)

Can robots help the elderly?

As demographic transition takes place.
The Western world
Enters a time
Where many elderly have
Less and less relatives

Where there are
Less and less health workers

Who can care for these people?
If human hands lack
Additional care
Will be given by

Robots
More and more

I shall not say that
The human touch can be replaced

Loneliness
Isolation
Can not be tackled by robots alone

I will say
That
Robots will
Add to the quality of life
Of elderly
Today and tomorrow

Let us embrace

Amazing start ups (3)

Have you ever sensed a feeling of instant belonging?
A gut confirmed intuitive thought.
Logic prevails
Home is home.

HightechXL gives me just that

Why?

The spirit of entrepreneurship in the air.
The can-do mentality.
The willingness to pair and share.
The exquisiteness of the start ups
The brim full of energy

An incubator for hardware startups
In the medical field
In Eindhoven

Italian mind over body
Brain control
Looking to expand in the Netherlands
With unique deep learning skills

And the Dutch
Berkelbike

Seeks to achieve
Re-activation
Of those
Immobilised by illness or trauma

Never fail to inspire

Can you see

Opportunities

In your practice?

T-shaped health professional (2)

Eindhoven, 26th March, 2018

To be surrounded by like minded innovative and creative disruptive spirits is where I want to be. Twenty five young health professionals came to Eindhoven to discuss the T-shaped health professional in a workshop session.

Words that were mentioned most in the 4 different groups.

Empathy - caring health professionals - for patients - fellow professionals and self.

Stop button - to be able to put on hold due process, to experience, understand, go your own way.

Why question - Simnon Sinek - time to reflect simon sinek start with why

Patient experience - to learn from and embrace

Self reflection - where there is time to evaluate, feel ones emotions, thoughts in the medical treadmill

Innovation - where the creative soul seeks new and unique solutions

Multi/intra disciplinary approach - to accept the value of collaboration

Compassion - a challenge to dare to care

I come home energised and write a mini reflection. We are able to change health care. If we believe and include patients, students and current health professionals.

I say good bye, you say hello (1)

Utrecht, 26-03-2018
Old and new chairs
Karine van 't Land and Ashis Brahma

I say goodbye, you say hello

April fool
Sitting on my stool

Handing over the hammer
No blink, no stammer

What delight
Handover so bright

Werkgroep zorg 2025

Techno-humanity
Hand in hand
Do you understand
Together brings sanity

Health care needs revision
No division

The best of technology
Requires human psychology

Entrepreneurship
As in

Safe hands
Good people

And I
Walk towards
My next dream
